Reverse description The reverse presents a central oval cartouche containing the Islamic shahada in bold Arabic Thuluth calligraphy: 'La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad rasul Allah' (There is no god but God, Muhammad is the messenger of God). The denomination 'ربع ريال' (quarter rial) appears in the lower portion of the field, with the mint name 'صنعاء' (Sana'a) and the Hijri year of issue inscribed in the margin along the lower rim. Flanking calligraphic flourishes and a secondary arched cartouche frame the central inscription, all enclosed within a beaded inner border and a toothed outer rim consistent with the obverse.
