The central legend reads the name and titles of Imam Yahya ibn Muhammad Hamid al-Din, rendered in flowing, interlaced strokes that overlap and interweave across the field. A prominent crescent-shaped cartouche frames the upper portion of the inscription, enclosing the Hijri regnal date 1322. The entire design is bordered by a tight inner rope border and an outer toothed (reeded) rim, characteristic of Yemeni coinage of the period. |
