A continuous circular Devanagari legend naming the issuing state of Gwalior and the ruler Madho Rao runs along the periphery, separated from the central inscription by the beaded border. The overall design is purely epigraphic, with no figurative or symbolic devices, characteristic of the coinage of the Scindia rulers of Gwalior. |

The purely typographic composition, devoid of any pictorial element, reflects the conventional epigraphic style adopted for the subsidiary copper coinage of Gwalior under Madho Rao Scindia. |
