The legend reads the name and titles of Sultan Faisal bin Turki bin Said in Arabic script, arranged in horizontal registers. The English inscription MUSCAT & OMAN and the Gregorian date 1895 appear in the outer legend in Latin characters. The design is presented without a beaded or decorative border, as indicated by the 'without border' variety designation.
