At center, the armorial achievement of the Bánfi family is prominently displayed: a shield bearing two skulls resting upon a cushion, supported on either side by rampant griffins. The composition conveys allegorical symbolism of peril and protection, rendered in a Baroque engraving style characteristic of early 18th-century Transylvanian medallic art. The circumferential Latin legend and die-sinker's initials SD KK G.S. appear along the border. |

| Opis rewersu | The reverse bears a fifteen-line Latin memorial inscription filling the entire field, commemorating György (Georgius) Count Bánfi de Losoncz, Royal Governor of Transylvania under Holy Roman Emperors Leopold and Joseph, and his pious consort Clara Countess of Bethlen. The text records that he lived 48 years and she 39, both dying during a calamitous popular war, and extends commemoration to their sons, daughters, and heirs. The date AN:C:MDCCIX (Anno Christi 1709) appears in the penultimate line, with the abbreviation F:F: (fieri fecit — caused this to be made) in the final line. The inscription is rendered in well-spaced Roman capitals across the full diameter of the coin, with no decorative border elements. |
