The underlying host coin retains faint traces of its original design — a standing royal or allegorical figure visible in the central field — though heavily worn and partially obscured by the countermarking process. The flan is irregular and planchet distortion is evident, consistent with the hammered technique used on earlier Portuguese India copper coinage. |
