Reverse description The triskelion of the Isle of Man — three armoured legs in spurs, conjoined at the centre and radiating symmetrically — dominates the central field. The initials I and D (for Iacobus Darbiensis, i.e. James Stanley, Earl of Derby) flank the upper two legs, while the fraction 1/2 appears below the central junction, denoting the half-penny denomination. The circumferential legend QUOCUNQUE · IECERIS · STABIT reads continuously around the border, separated by pellets, with the coin struck in coin alignment and framed by a milled rim.
