| Obverse description | Salmon-orange note with an ornate guilloche underprint of repeating rosette and lace patterns across the entire field. The denomination "EINE HALBE MARK" is set in large bold letterpress type at centre, surmounted by the title "DARLEHNSKASSENSCHEIN"; fractional numerals "1/2" appear in each upper and lower corner within the decorative border. The place and date "KOWNO, den 4. April 1918" and issuer name "Darlehnskasse Ost" are printed in the central field, with three facsimile signatures below, and a guarantee clause in small text along the lower margin. |
