Fehmarn is a Baltic island that remained administratively isolated enough during the Notgeld period that individual municipalities — not just the island authority as a whole — issued their own emergency small change. Landkirchen, the island's oldest settlement and its historical administrative seat, was one of them. J. C. König & Ebhardt of Hannover were a reliable commercial printer used by dozens of northern German municipalities for exactly this kind of low-denomination paper substitute when coin circulation collapsed after 1914.
The DeNG reference places this firmly in the documented series, but Landkirchen issues are scarce relative to larger Schleswig-Holstein towns — the municipality's small population meant correspondingly small print runs.
