Descrizione del dritto	Plain cream ground with a yellow border strip framing the entire note. The place name "Landkirchen auf Fehmarn" is set in bold blackletter type at centre, with the denomination "1/2 Mark" printed in large red and black Gothic script below. At top, the secondary denomination "50 Pfennig 50" appears in red letterpress. The lower portion carries a multi-line redemption clause in cursive script, followed by the issuing authority line "Der Gemeindevorstand:" and a manuscript signature with a six-digit serial number at bottom left.

Descrizione del rovescio	Cream ground with radiating sunburst lines emanating from a central vignette of the historic Marien-Leuchte (Virgin Mary lamp), rendered in colour, showing a crowned Madonna and Child figure within an ornate oval reliquary frame. Explanatory text in blackletter script surrounds the vignette on both sides, recounting the legend of the lamp sweating blood in 1420 during the Danish King Erich's devastation of the island. The place name "Landkirchen auf Fehmarn" and the denomination "50 Pfennig" appear in red Gothic type at lower left and lower right respectively, with the printer's imprint "J. C. König & Ebhardt in Hannover" at the very foot of the note.
