| Descripción del anverso | Central field features a crowned quartered shield of arms bearing the heraldic devices of the Habsburg-Luxembourg territories, including the lion of Luxembourg and the lilies of Castile, surmounted by an ornate crown. The escutcheon is rendered in a bold late-Gothic style typical of Burgundian Low Countries coinage of the early sixteenth century. A beaded inner circle frames the shield, with the Latin legend disposed around the periphery reading PHS DVX LVXEMBVRGIS, identifying the issuer as Philippe I the Handsome, Duke of Luxembourg. The lettering is executed in uncial characters with distinctive abbreviation marks. |
