Reverse description A short cross pattee with broad, splayed arms fills the central field, dividing it into four quarters. The letters D, V, X, and C (abbreviating DVCA or DUX C[omitis], referring to the ducal title) are individually placed in each of the four angles formed by the cross arms. The legends are enclosed within a beaded circle and a peripheral legend band, all characteristic of hammered Brabantine half-groats of the period.
