Reverse description A reclining female allegorical figure, representing Central America, is depicted leaning against a classical column, holding a bow and arrows as symbols of sovereignty and defense. The Independence date is inscribed on or near the column. The circular legend AMERICA CENTRAL arcs along the upper periphery, while the lower portion of the field bears the gold fineness expressed in karats (21), the denomination (1/2 E), and the assayer's initials (J.B.) identifying engraver and assayer Juan Barth.
