| Beschrijving voorzijde | At center, an ornate crowned tournament helmet is displayed above a curved heraldic shield bearing the arms of Zwolle, the shield flanked by a beaded inner circle. A small figure of Saint Michael, depicted wielding a sword, surmounts the crown above the helmet. The date, where present, appears at the bottom below the shield, oriented inversely with respect to the surrounding legend. The design is executed in the bold, relief-heavy style characteristic of hammered Dutch municipal coinage of the early seventeenth century. |
