Obverse description Central field bears a multi-line Arabic inscription reading the royal title and epithets of Imam Yahya, 'Al-Mutawakkil ala Allah' (He who relies on God), with small six-pointed star ornaments flanking the legend to left and right. The Hijri regnal year 1322 appears in Eastern Arabic numerals along the lower portion of the field. The design is bold and calligraphic in style, filling the coin's surface with raised Arabic script, with no border of dots or inner circle.

The annular border between the inner circle and the coin's rim is decorated with a series of evenly spaced six-pointed star ornaments, giving the reverse a distinctive and ornate appearance.
