Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing right, wearing a Corinthian helmet with raised cheekpieces and a prominent crest rendered with fine detail. The goddess's facial features are modelled in the Hellenistic style, with a strong profile, well-defined nose, and slightly parted lips. The neck is visible below, with no surrounding legend or border ornament. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hand-struck provincial coinage of Sicily in the second century BC.
