| Reverse description | An elongated lyre (kinor or kithara) with three strings depicted in full face view, its resonating body tapering toward the base and surmounted by a crossbar from which the strings are strung. The instrument is rendered with careful detail, the yoke arms curving gracefully outward, consistent with the distinctive artistic style of Bar Kokhba revolt coinage. The Hebrew legend is arranged in the surrounding field, reading in a circular fashion around the central motif. The beaded border, visible around the coin's circumference, frames the design. The coin appears to be struck over a Roman denarius, with traces of the undertype visible in the field. |
