| 背面描述 | A bold Latin cross with plain arms occupies the central field, its four quadrants each containing a large quadrifoil (four-petalled rosette) in high relief, the petals clearly articulated. Small pellets or points are placed at the terminals and intersections of the cross arms. The entire central composition is contained within a beaded inner circle, beyond which the circular Latin legend IN HOC SIGNO VINCES runs around the periphery. The reverse design follows the Manueline-to-Johannine typological tradition of Portuguese silver coinage, with the cross symbolising the Constantinian motto adopted by the Portuguese Crown. |
