| Opmerkingen |
Norwegian exile forces, reconstituted in Britain after the German occupation of Norway in April 1940, operated several training and internment facilities where ordinary Allied banknotes were deliberately kept out of circulation. These camp vouchers filled that gap — a closed scrip system designed to prevent cash from leaking outside the wire or funding unauthorized activity.
The issuing authority was never a central bank, and no Pick number has been assigned to most of these voucher series. Documentation is fragmentary; denominations and print runs varied between camps and periods, and surviving examples are rarely accompanied by provenance records linking them to a specific facility.
Printed on plain paper, often by small commercial printers under wartime contract.
