| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse bears a Sogdian inscription arranged in the field, reading 'bgy twwn x`g`n', translating as 'Divine Khagan Tuun', identifying the issuing ruler by his title and name. The legend is written in the Sogdian script, characteristic of the coinage of the Chach region during the late Umayyad and early Abbasid period. The inscription is the primary design element on the reverse, with little or no additional decorative devices. The die work is typical of provincial Sogdian issues, with somewhat irregular letter spacing on an uneven flan. |
