| Obverse description | A lion or snow leopard depicted in profile, walking left, rendered in a stylised Central Asian artistic tradition characteristic of Sogdian coinage. The feline figure occupies the central field of the irregularly shaped flan. A Sogdian inscription appears above the animal in the upper field, reading 'xwbw' (Ruler). The relief is bold but worn, consistent with the hammered fabric typical of Chach bronzes of this period. |
