| Obverse description | Male head facing right, rendered in the Ibero-Hellenistic style, with wavy hair indicated by pronounced, stylised locks radiating from the crown. A series of dolphins or curved ornaments appears before and behind the neck, a characteristic decorative motif of Iberian Hispanic coinage. Saltuie was an Iberian settlement whose precise location was debated for decades until its identification with the site beneath modern Zaragoza gained general acceptance — making this bronze one of the earliest coins struck at what would become Caesar Augusta, later Zaragoza. The oppidum issued coinage under Roman administrative pressure during a period when indigenous Iberian mints were being systematically brought into the Roman monetary orbit following the Gracchan provincial reorganization.
CNH#1 designation places this as the foundational type of the series.
