Obverse description Laureate head of Zeus facing right, rendered with flowing locks of hair and a commanding profile characteristic of Apulian bronze coinage of the period. The portrait fills much of the flan, exhibiting bold, high-relief modeling consistent with the local die-cutting tradition. A star, serving as the mark of value denoting the uncia, is placed in the field behind the head. The flan is irregular and slightly thickened at center, typical of hand-struck provincial bronzes of this era.
