| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the elaborate calligraphic tughra of Sultan Abdülmecid I, rendered in high relief with characteristic sweeping loops and vertical shafts. A foliate spray device appears to the upper right of the tughra. The entire design is contained within a beaded inner circle, itself enclosed by a plain raised rim. The field is otherwise unadorned, lending full visual prominence to the imperial cipher. |
