| Beschrijving keerzijde | Goat's head and neck depicted facing left within a shallow incuse square, the interior edges of which are bordered by a row of dots forming a pellet frame. The design is executed in sunken relief characteristic of early archaic Greek incuse technique, with no surrounding legend. The strong, stylized rendering of the animal is consistent with Delphic coinage of the late sixth to early fifth century BC. |

Delphi's autonomous coinage was brief and politically complicated. The sanctuary at Delphi operated under the shifting control of the Amphictyonic League, and the city's ability to issue independent coinage depended entirely on periods when local authorities held enough autonomy to strike in their own name. This small silver issue falls within one of those windows, likely before the First Sacred War's aftermath had fully consolidated Amphictyonic dominance over the sanctuary's finances.
The BCD Lokris reference places this piece within a well-documented private collection that formed the backbone of scholarly understanding for central Greek coinage of this period.
