Dikaia was a small Thracian coastal settlement near the Chalcidic peninsula, close enough to Abdera that the two are sometimes confused in the literature. Its independent coinage was brief — almost certainly curtailed by growing Athenian pressure on Thracian minting communities during the Delian League's peak years, when Athens aggressively consolidated tribute-paying poleis and suppressed rival silver issues. A trihemiobol from Dikaia surviving at all is notable; the city's output was modest, and the SNG Ashmolean remains one of the few systematic reference points for its type.
