| Obverse description | Bare head of a youthful male figure, facing right, rendered in fine archaic-to-early classical style with richly detailed wavy hair swept back from the forehead. The facial features are sensitively modelled with a rounded cheek and slightly parted lips. The subject is tentatively identified as Peloros, a hero associated with the region. The field is plain and the coin is bordered by a dotted guilloche or bead-and-reel border visible along the rim. |
