The portrait is rendered in the Hellenistic tradition, with fine facial features typical of Seleucid bronze coinage. The field is plain, and the serrated flan edge frames the design with the characteristic scalloped border of this issue. No legend appears on the obverse. |

The Greek royal legend BAΣIΛEΩΣ above and ΔHMHTΡIOY below flanks the central device, identifying the issuing monarch Demetrius I Soter. The composition is well-centred within the serrated flan, with the inscription clearly disposed in two lines around the type. The overall style is consistent with the Antioch mint production under Demetrius I. |
