The portrait is rendered in the Hellenistic tradition, with fine facial features typical of Seleucid bronze coinage. | Descrizione del rovescio | A bow and quiver depicted horizontally in the central field, rendered in relief as the principal type, emblematic of Artemis as divine huntress. The Greek royal legend BAΣIΛEΩΣ above and ΔHMHTΡIOY below flanks the central device, identifying the issuing monarch Demetrius I Soter. The composition is well-centred within the serrated flan, with the inscription clearly disposed in two lines around the type. The overall style is consistent with the Antioch mint production under Demetrius I. |
