| 背面描述 | Forepart of a spirited horse springing to the right, shown emerging from a rocky outcrop upon which an olive tree grows, the composition a distinctly regional Thessalian device. The entire design is enclosed within an olive wreath with ties positioned below, forming a decorative border around the central motif. The lettering identifying the issuing community appears around the type, and the imagery combines the characteristic equestrian symbolism of Thessaly with the olive branch motif. |

Orthe was a minor Thessalian city whose precise location remains disputed among ancient geographers — some ancient sources place it near the Titarisios river, others conflate it with neighboring settlements entirely. Bronze coinage of this weight class from Orthe is rare enough that the BCD collection specimens represent a significant fraction of known examples, making die studies across the Rogers and BCD references unusually dependent on a small corpus.
