| Additional information |
Orthe was a minor Thessalian city whose precise location remains disputed among ancient geographers — some ancient sources place it near the Titarisios river, others conflate it with neighboring settlements entirely. Bronze coinage of this weight class from Orthe is rare enough that the BCD collection specimens represent a significant fraction of known examples, making die studies across the Rogers and BCD references unusually dependent on a small corpus.
