Reverse description A military trophy stands prominently at center, composed of a cuirassed mannequin mounted on a pole with captured arms and armor arrayed upon it, flanked symmetrically by two six-pointed stars in the field. The trophy motif, a traditional Roman symbol of victory over enemies, is rendered with fine detail including pteruges and suspended shields. Two captive figures or shields are attached to the trophy's lateral extremities, emphasizing imperial triumph. The mint mark CONOB appears in the exergue within a segmented tablet, denoting the Constantinople mint and the obryzum (pure gold) standard. A beaded border frames the entire design.
