The bust is centrally placed on the irregular flan, with the facial features depicted in a highly conventionalized fashion derived from debased Byzantine prototypes. The mint name RODΛS (Rosas, in modern Catalonia) and the epithet IVSTVS appear distributed around the bust as the reverse legend.
