| Descrizione del rovescio | Schematized frontal bust in the same highly stylized Visigothic manner as the obverse, representing either a second royal effigy or a symbolic figure associated with the mint city of Reccopolis. The design features triangular pellet-work details and a simplified torso rendered in characteristic late Visigothic hammered style. The circular legend + RECCOPVLIPEI identifies the mint as Reccopolis, the royal city founded by King Leovigild. The field is surrounded by a beaded border consistent with other Visigothic tremisses of this period. |

Recopolis was founded in 578 by Leovigild and named for his son Recared — the same Recared who, after converting from Arianism to Nicene Christianity in 589, became the first Visigothic king to rule a religiously unified Iberian peninsula. The mint at Recopolis is one of only a handful of purpose-built Visigothic urban foundations known archaeologically, excavated near modern Zorita de los Canes in Guadalajara province.
Pliego's classification places this issue among the earliest tremisses struck in Recared's name, before the mint's output consolidated around Toledo.
