| Opis rewersu | A bold Latin cross set within a laurel wreath occupying the central field, the wreath tied at its base and formed of carefully rendered foliage. Below the wreath, in the exergue, appears the mint control mark COMOB, the standard late Roman gold-coinage guarantee of Constantinopolitan fineness, here adopted by the Visigothic moneyers in imitation of imperial prototypes. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border, consistent with the hammered tremissis tradition of the period. |
