| Obverse description | Facing royal bust of King Gundemaro rendered in the schematic Visigothic style, with a stylised crown or diadem surmounted by a cross pattée at top centre. The bust is shown frontally with rudimentary facial features and a heavily jewelled or beaded collar, all executed in low, broad relief characteristic of late Visigothic gold coinage. The field is plain and the design is enclosed by a beaded border. The surrounding circular Latin legend reads + GVNDEMARVS REX, the letters arranged around the full circumference of the flan. |

The design follows the standard Visigothic tremissis reverse type derived from late Roman prototypes, executed in a highly stylised, almost geometric fashion. A beaded border encircles the design.
