Obverse description Facing crowned and draped bust of the ruler, bearded, holding a cross potent with wedge-shaped pellets in the angles above, rendered in the flat, stylised manner characteristic of Lombard coinage. The effigy is positioned centrally within a circular border of pellets. A retrograde or partially degenerate Latin legend surrounds the bust in the field.
