The composition closely follows late Byzantine tremissis prototypes, rendered in the debased Lombard style. A circular Latin legend surrounds the design, with the mint reference CONOB appearing in the lower exergual area, indicating a nominal reference to the Constantinople mint standard. A pellet border frames the entire reverse. |
