The mint legend surrounds the central motif, disposed around the field within a toothed border. The lettering is in retrograde and partially barbarized Latin, reading PΛNNIΛCIACO FIIT, a corruption of the place-name Pannaciaco (Banassac) combined with the word FIIT (fecit or fit), indicating the place of manufacture. |
