Beschrijving keerzijde Hexagonal aluminium token reverse featuring a prominent beaded border encircling the central field. The numeral '1' is struck in large raised figures in the upper center of the field, with the word 'FARE' inscribed in raised capital letters beneath, the letters radiating outward in a cross-like arrangement within the inner circle. The overall design is plain and functional, consistent with late 19th to early 20th century American transit token production.

Aanvullende informatie

The Central Electric Railway Company operated Sacramento's streetcar network in the early twentieth century before being absorbed into larger transit consolidations that swept California's interurban systems during the 1920s and 1930s. Aluminum tokens of this type were issued as a fare management tool — easier to produce and harder to counterfeit with casual materials than paper transfers, and light enough that conductors could carry quantities without the weight burden of bronze or brass.
