Reverse description The reverse features a large Tsarist monogram of Ivan Shishman prominently occupying the central field, rendered in the interlaced Cyrillic ligature style characteristic of late Bulgarian medieval coinage. A group of three pellets and a single pellet are disposed below the monogram, while an additional single pellet appears above, serving as field ornaments in the standard pellet-filler convention of the period. The design is struck on an irregular flan with the broad, flat style typical of hammered billon trachea of the Veliko Turnovo mint.
