裏面の説明	The reverse features a large floriated cross pattée centered within a beaded inner circle, with four small pellets or annulets placed in the angles between the arms of the cross. The circular Latin legend surrounds the inner circle, reading IN HOC SIGNO VINCES ('In this sign thou shalt conquer'), the Constantinian motto adopted by the Portuguese Crown. Notably, the letters N in 'VINCES' and the initial S are punched in inverted orientation, a recognised die characteristic of this Porto issue. The overall design reflects the devotional iconographic programme standard to João III's tostão coinage.

The "O-P" mintmark distinguishes Porto-struck pieces from their Lisbon counterparts — a distinction that matters considerably given the relative scarcity of Porto production for this type.
