Shah Murad, the Manghit ruler who preceded Haydar, had imposed an austere Islamist administration over Bukhara — banning music, restricting trade, and cultivating a reputation for personal piety unusual among Central Asian rulers. His son Haydar inherited a state ideologically rigid but fiscally functional, and the gold tilla series continued largely uninterrupted across the transition. The Manghit emirs struck tillas not merely for commerce but as instruments of political legitimacy, with each reign's coinage explicitly anchored to the ruler's name and lineage.
The A#3030.1 attribution places this among the earlier Haydar issues, before the monetary pressures of his later conflicts with the Khanate of Kokand forced debasement of subsidiary silver coinage.
