| Descrizione del dritto | Stylised facing bust rendered in a bold, schematic manner characteristic of early Anglo-Saxon die-cutting. The visage is depicted in high relief with prominent arched brows, a broad nose, and a strongly outlined mouth, all executed with a degree of abstraction reflecting the influence of late antique prototypes filtered through Germanic artistic tradition. The hair or headdress is suggested by incised lines framing the face at the periphery of the flan. The field is plain, with the design occupying the full extent of the irregular hammered flan. No legend is present on the obverse. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Central design features a cross pattée set within a circle, with a small pellet or annulet in each of the four angles formed between the arms of the cross and the enclosing ring, a motif derived from late Roman and Merovingian coinage. The surrounding field bears a beaded or roped border, and the retrograde Latin legend LONDVNIV (or LONDINIV) appears distributed around the circumference, identifying London as the place of issue. The lettering is angular and somewhat irregular in spacing, consistent with the hand-cut dies of the period. The reverse exhibits the characteristically uneven surface of a hammered gold flan. |
