| Obverse description | Draped and armored bust of John George III, Elector of Saxony, facing right, wearing a flowing allonge wig and a cravat at the neck, with ornate plate armor decorated with beaded borders visible at the truncation. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Baroque style. The encircling Latin legend reads IOH GEORG III D G DUX SAX I C & M, identifying the ruler by name and title. The coin's reeded collar is clearly visible at the rim. |

| Reverse description | The quartered electoral arms of Saxony displayed on a baroque shield, surmounted by an Electoral crown and flanked by elaborate palm or feather mantling on either side. The shield bears the traditional Saxon barry with a bend of rue, quartered with the arms of Thuringia and other Saxon territorial claims. The date appears in the upper field divided by the shield. Below the arms, the denomination 2/3 is displayed within an oval cartouche. The circumscribed Latin legend SAC ROM IMP ARCHIM ET ELECT denotes the holder's dignity as Arch-Marshal and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire. |
