| Description du revers | The prancing white horse of Lower Saxony leaping to the left, depicted with flowing mane and tail, above a ground line, serving as the heraldic symbol of the Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel principality. The circular Latin motto legend NUNQUAM RETRORSUM surrounds the horse with the date flanking the motto. Below the ground line, the denomination and fineness inscription XL·EINE FEINE MARCH is divided across two lines, followed by CONVENT·M·, and at the base the mintmaster's initials I·D·B· flank a small engraved shield bearing the fraction 1/3. |
