Obverse description Armored and draped bust of Administrator August of Sachsen-Weissenfels facing right, wearing elaborately decorated armor with ornamental shoulder guards and a lace cravat. The hair is rendered in long curling locks falling to the shoulder in the baroque fashion. The portrait is contained within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend reads AUGUSTUS D G P A A M D S I C R M, identifying him as Duke of Saxony and Administrator of Magdeburg.

Reverse description Crowned quartered shield of arms displaying the heraldic devices of Magdeburg and Saxony, with the central escutcheon bearing the rampant lion of the Duchy. The date 1669 is divided across the field to either side of the shield, with the mintmaster's initials H and F flanking the date. Below the shield, an oval cartouche displays the fraction ⅔ indicating the denomination. The surrounding legend MONETA NOVA ARGENTEA identifies this as a new silver coin.
