| Obverse description | Forepart of a horse prancing to the right, rendered in bold relief with well-defined musculature. The mane is finely engraved, and the raised foreleg conveys a sense of dynamic movement. The abbreviated civic ethnic M A appears in the field, flanking the horse's chest and hindquarters respectively. The flan is irregular, typical of early Thracian hammered coinage. |

| Reverse description | A prominent bunch of grapes suspended from a short vine tendril occupies the centre of the design, rendered with detailed individual berries in high relief. The bunch is enclosed within a square border of pellets, a hallmark device of Maroneian coinage referencing the city's celebrated viticulture. The Greek magistrate's inscription ΕΠΙ ΑΡΙΣΤΟΛΕΩ, reading 'under Aristoleon,' is distributed around the exterior of the dotted square border in four groups of letters. The overall composition is well-centred and the die engraving is crisp and confident. |
