| Beschrijving voorzijde | Youthful bare head of Dionysos facing right, rendered in archaic-to-classical Greek style with flowing locks of hair visible behind the neck. The deity is crowned with a wreath of ivy, the leaves and berries of which are depicted in fine relief encircling the brow. The portrait fills much of the flan, with the modeling of the facial features — including the eye, nose, and lips — executed with characteristic skill of the Macedonian mint tradition. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | A kantharos, the two-handled wine cup sacred to Dionysos, depicted in bold relief at the center of the field, with a wide body, pronounced foot, and two upward-curving handles flanking the vessel. The cup is rendered frontally, occupying the majority of the flan. The ethnic legend ΜΕΝΔΑΙΩΝ, identifying the issuing city of Mende, is distributed in the field to either side and around the kantharos in Greek characters, serving as the primary inscription of the reverse type. |
