Additional information

Gambrion was a minor Mysian city whose coinage output was small enough that its attribution remained contested well into the twentieth century. The tetrobol denomination — two-thirds of an obol shy of a full drachm — suggests this city was plugging into a regional exchange network rather than asserting any independent monetary ambition. The SNG France and Winterthur concordances between them account for only a handful of recorded specimens.
