Obverse description Facing gorgoneion rendered in archaic style, occupying the full field of the coin. The mask displays large, staring eyes with prominent pupils, a broad flat nose, and a wide grinning mouth with the characteristic apotropaic expression. Coiling serpents are visible framing the head at the upper periphery, and vestigial wings or serpentine locks radiate outward from the crown. The design is boldly modelled in high relief, consistent with the late Himeran bronze coinage tradition.
